Pros

The location and hours of work were convenient.

Cons

The poor management of nursing allowed for a pack-like mentality and "nurse devouring nurse" environment. Appalling nurse practices included leaving IV tubing open to air, neglect of replacing suction canisters in between patient use, and lack of consistent hand washing between patient contact.

Pros

Lots of med/surg experience for new grads. If you can work on the spinal cord unit then you can work anywhere.

Cons

Some staff offers to help but others don't. Work load is heavy.
