Pros

CHS does a great deal of good work in the community and provides services to those who otherwise might not have access to appropriate healthcare. In general I would say that the pay and benefits are competitive and the culture is good though a good deal of the cultural stuff is more rhetoric that action.

Cons

Administrative staff from the AVP level up are completely detached for the patients and the people that care for the patients and seem to view patients more as a business relationship that people with a problem with the organization can assist them with.

Pros

Very Stable Company and largest healthcare provider in the Charlotte region. Shift Differential and Holiday Pay is nice

Cons

Very Hard to transfer to other departments. Managers pick favorites that they promote without any qualifications. Pharmacy Managers are frequently people who, while very knowledgeable, have zero leadership experience and it leads to a bottom heavy power structure. There is no reason someone who got hired the same time as me with no experience and who doesn't have a college degree and doesn't do as much work should be getting paid $10 more an hour!

Pros

The people I supervised were wonderful.

Cons

The people who "supervised" me. From the very first day on the job, I had no orientation, no mentoring and stayed "afloat" more by trial and error than anything else. My immediate supervisor did not respond to my emails, did not answer my calls, did not return messages and more often than not, cancelled pre-scheduled meetings. I realized toward the end of my employment that she was taking credit for work I had performed while simultaneously giving me miss-information regarding projects I was involved in while telling my peers that I was incompetent.
