Pros

- Impressive firm strategy with proven success - Intelligent and hard working team members that invest in the development of strong employees - Collegiate culture given large number of younger P.E. team members - No glass ceiling, young team members given as much room to run as they can handle which leads to great exposure and resume building opportunities - Tons of growth opportunities within the firm as the strategy expands

Cons

- Definitely a hard working culture, must be willing to put the time and effort in to be successful (but it pays off in the work experience you gain) - Tends to be resistant to change, but this is a focus area for management in the near term - Mentorship requires investment from junior team members as much as senior team members, but if you can build strong relationships then the firm and your mentors will promote you well

Pros

- Incredible place to start a career; truly believe Audax offers the best training, mentorship, and growth opportunities for anyone interested in private equity. - Given the buy and build strategy, teams get significant deal exposure and the chance to take on more responsibility. - No jerks; fun culture.

Cons

- Busy workload given the volume of deals done. That said, given the apprenticeship model of private equity, the extra work leads to more responsibilities and learning. You will work hard in this industry regardless of the firm. - Getting big/mature; that said, recent shift to industry groups for VPs and up has brought back the "small firm feel," while still giving associates the chance to be generalists and explore multiple verticals. Also allows for a great network of portfolio support and specialists.

Pros

Compensation is solid, but slightly below market for PE and absolutely not worth it considering the hours.

Cons

Worst hours of any PE shop I've ever seen. The sweatshop reputation Audax has is absolutely deserved. Grim work culture and unhappy employees make the extremely long hours just excruciating. Audax is also extremely unethical and dishonest, both with their portfolio companies and with their PE employees. Deal with them at your own risk.
