Compensation is still better than average

Cons

I was lied to repeatedly during the interview process about how lax the office policy was. Now the company is enforcing a strict 2x a week policy with no wiggle room. Previously they were not subject to the Amazon PIP policy/culture but that has now changed to a full fledged endorsement. Have to be good at politicking to keep your job and do well. Tons of process/bureaucracy, difficult to get anything done. Tech is pretty poor considering they are a subsidiary of Amazon. Tons of proprietary tooling that wouldn't be useful anywhere else that is objectively worse than industry standard/open source software.

Pros

Lots of good, smart, well intentioned folks here and a product that users love. The core business model is rock solid.

Cons

Every 6 months there is a management shake up and programs are ended, people are laid off. Usually it's after giving a half-assessed attempt at a new thing and then declaring it a failure. The 'new' initiative thing seems to get started over again every few years.

1. The working environment is awesome. Smart office, smart desk, entertainment room. And each floor has a kitchen. 2. Free Lunch. The lunch is very tasty and you can definitely find some food that meets your expectations. 3. People. People there are very nice.
