Pros

The people are exceptional. Incredibly smart, passionate about what we do and incredibly open to new ideas. There is a lot of change being put in place to make sure that the entrepreneurial spirit and energy stays alive while the company continues to grow hand over fist. Don could not be a more inspirational leader. And the company just treats you well. Food, health care brought to the office, real flexibility in schedule to accommodate personal lives.

Cons

It's in Newark. I wish it was in Midtown. Surprisingly, I've become pretty accustomed to the commute. It's not really any further that Brooklyn -> the 50's.

Great place to grow

Pros

Great place to grow and find what you are good at, lots of opportunities to volunteer for activities that boost company moral and help you learn what other departments do. Because of that, we have a chance to try something new on a rotation, to see if it better fits our skill set.

Cons

Just generic big company woes, nothing new. Trying to pitch ideas or new solutions and feeling like it's going no where and maybe no one is listening. But be persistent if you believe in something and maybe one day they will see the value.

Pros

-Great People. -Good work camaraderie. Lot of of mart people and a lot of stress on process improvement and also encourage any changes suggested for process improvement.

Cons

Undefined road map Too many management and reporting structure changes. Both of the above have lead to lot of chaos in the recent times and has resulted in lot of people from the tech vertical leaving the company. This also leads to uncertainty in terms of career growth as there are a lot of hand-offs between managers. A few people were let go and I feel the management did not come out clean with any reason for those. This created a lot of commotion and uncertainty. And even now it doesn't look they are doing anything to quell the chaos. The amazon leadership principles are used only for interviews. Performance reviews are largely the whims of your manager. So if you are in good books you are safe. Otherwise what you did closest to review would be used for your performance evaluation. There are some good managers who try to be objective so if you are lucky, you'll get them as your manager.
