Pros

The office culture is enviable, and not just because there are ping pong tales in the kitchen or because they provide us with catered food every day. They also provide plenty of growth opportunities along with great benefits.

Cons

Usual corporate challenges and office politics, nothing out of the norm. I feel like there is sometimes a disconnect between upper management and the people under them. Or that sometimes some departments may lack cohesiveness even though they have similar goals.

Pros

At Audible I was given responsibility from day 1 together with the tools and support to achieve my objectives. I was also able to impact the business from the get-go. The call out for new and disruptive ideas is constant in my team and I'm constantly toggling between tactic and strategy. My team and management are highly qualified and engaged and have always been there. US and International offices have a great atmosphere and really cool perks.

Cons

The fact that we have two souls - "Audible" and "Amazon" - makes sometimes collaboration tough. Would be great to have a clear guideline on where Audible ends and Amazon begins.

Pros

I joined Audible about 2 years ago. At first it seems a great place to work with decent pay. Getting stocks is also a plus. I started in customer service then moved to the sales department. The bonuses were great!

Cons

I see many problems with this place. The biggest problem as others have mentioned is transparency. There is absolutely none. You will work hard only to see others promoted who do less work. Projects are secretly handed out and promotions almost always come from them. Jobs are not posted and promotions are not based on real experience. It is a very stressful place to work as you will go through leaps and bounds to please customers when the company itself does not take their suggestions and constructive feedback seriously. They market to a target audience which is young and not really interested in audiobooks in the long run. Instead their audience is older people usually seniors who in many cases are not as tech savvy. These customers have become more frustrated as using the service has become more and more complicated.
