Pros
Job security as it has good flow of workload in the current market.
Cons
Low pay. Your pay will not be brought up to the market rate once you are in no matter how long you are there unless you get a significant promotion (with benefits). Pay reviews are only done to fill forms. 0 increase while i was there (no inflation increase either). I was told i would need to keep my KPIs up to be considered for a salary review - but few years in a row - did not get one even after meeting the expectations. Others got promoted despite not being chargable the whole year!!!!! Pigeonholed - you cannot work in other fields or move between departments if you are interested in other disciplines to grow your expertise - choose wisely!
