Pros

Organized and professional company, 2 Week Training (1 in class, 1 with Shadowing), Exposure to ABA methods and practice, Work can feel like playtime, BCBA's are very knowledgeable and skilled and will help you if they can tell you really want to grow. Overall the people who work there are generally kind and fun to be around. This field draws in the more compassionate, creative, and silly personalities so you'll meet cool people. Seeing growth with the kids. Super supportive parents. This job is a Confidence builder with customer service and behavior therapy. You'll find out quickly if this field is for you or not.

Cons

Some really stressful and tough cases, Challenging parents, Erratic hours due to cancellations and difficulty rescheduling with the families to make up those hours. Due to different clinical hours assigned to each kiddo I ended up with 7 supervisors at one point and you can't always equally please that many different personalities. They are assigned too many staff and are spread out thin which affects their ability or willingness to help you grow. Raises are tough to get, even as an RBT. No benefits unless you are full-time and even that is not stable all year because school cases end in summer so to maintain full-time hours you have to hurry and get new cases to stay full time.(not sure if this has changed since I left)

Favoritism and Profits Over People

Pros

Salaried staff have flexible schedules

Cons

Expected to work up to 50+ hours per week when salaried, focus on profits over staff and client well-being, promotes people that are friends with leadership, staff are afraid to speak out against leadership for fear of losing their jobs, promises are often made that are never followed through on, anonymous feedback can be pin-pointed on particular people and "leaders" will react to it, upper management has no clue what is actually happening on the ground.
