Pros

Organization is full of smart people. Overall the company provides good compensation and benefits and flexibility to work from home. If you love dogs, this is the place to be because you can bring your dog to work.

Cons

Organization going through change management effort as they have changed their go to market strategy to move from product focus to consumer focus.

Pros

Salaries seem to be pretty generous. Product suite is innovative and exciting, which made me proud to be a part of that growth. Surrounded by very smart and articulate people.

Cons

Job description was misleading. I felt pigeon holed when I got there, due to the extremely siloed and bureaucratic org. Lots of aggressive career climbers. Very colorful and creative office environment, but a very corporate culture in the end. No sense of sharing and community. And WAY too many meetings - most of the time with very little result.

Pros

Autodesk has some of the best softwares in digital design. It is a laid back company and offers employees a lot of flexibility in terms of work hours. Working from home is widely accepted. The benefits offered are extremely generous, even to the laid off employees. They are investing a lot of money on what they think is the wave of the future, which for them is cloud based solution capabilities and PLM in engineering softwares.

Cons

1. The company gives only one earned day leave per month which can not be used ahead of time. 2. The company is bottom heavy and there are very few opportunities for advancement of career. 3. The people in the upper echelon gets promoted by being good at internal politics. 4. Some of the managers may not have a good understanding of the area they are trying to manage. 5. The company does not have a good understanding of simulation business but wants to be a simulation leader. Upper management does not even understand the difference between a convergent valid solution and a convergent garbage result when it comes to simulation and as a result they are pushing for low cost, snazzy looking simulation products for the future which would end up giving garbage results for any complicated simulation especially in FEA / multi-physics domain. 6. They want to be a leader in simulation product business and yet are aiming for those customers who may not quite understand the physics of simulation and could be made happy with any results regardless of the accuracy of it as long as their software produces a result.
