Pros

An excellent product and very capable colleagues.

Cons

Toxic impression given by job advertisement: 1) "Ability to stand up to strong personalities" implies that HR condone behavior from management who lack Emotional Intelligence and do not know how to play well with others in the sandbox, manage by intimidation instead of getting the best out of their staff through positive interaction. 2) "Listen, ask good questions, know when to speak up and when not to and understand the difference." Again, this statement prompotes an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty, shuts down creative problem-solving and collaboration. A very poor impression of management and HR department willing to condone and advertise for an opening in this manner.

Pros

Autodesk is doing really awesome things and they make sure that the mission and values of the company are front an center regardless of which organization you are a part of. Development of professional skills is incredibly important, especially for those working in EIS. Courses in communication, management, productivity software, and role-specific technologies are available to all employees and managers are given a generous budget for educational expenses.

Cons

For a tech company with offices in SF, there is definitely an air of old-school corporate culture. Very few fringe benefits compared to most modern Silicon Valley tech companies. Lots of bureaucracy and top-down reorganizations occurred on a quarterly basis, most on the whim of a single manager higher up. Issues with competency with many of my peers in EIS.

Pros

Cool downtown office Innovative products Great CEO Good vision

Cons

Politics - it's hard to move up or change jobs within the company Poor Management - lack of transparency, everything is done through special teams that make all the decisions Great vision but poor execution. There are so many re orgs every year and the company can never seem to figure out what direction they are going.
