Pros

Latest technology on Microsoft Platform, If you have the talent and are ready to put in long hours you'll be rewarded with challenging projects. Lots of free gadgets and free MSDN subscription and Windows Phone. You travel a lot , lots of opportunity to collect frequent flyer cards and enjoy premium hotel stays When it comes to technology, you'll find plenty of geeks and smart people you can rely on. (Don't expect to have conversations about financial markets, business models or market trends here) Your technical talent will be appreciated verbally. Very good place for freshers who want to get a taste of consulting Flat organization, you can anytime reach out to the director or senior management International community of service lines is strong, lots of exchange of ideas. If you are on direct projects, you'll truly enjoy the value you deliver at the client Great focus on IT training & opportunities get Microsoft certifications. Generous number of holidays per year. You can take time off with family.

Cons

Everybody wants to make Accenture Managers happy rather than making the Client happy The only people to face the clients are the Analysts and Consultants while often Managers, Group Managers and especially Director level people usually sit in the offices away from the clients. Of late culture has deteriorated remarkably, your charge-ability or IT intellectual Assets or client appreciation doesn't matter, what matters for promotion is weather you have spent time with the director or group manager on some in-house project. It's a normal practice to see people getting promoted when they come-up with offer to resign or when Accenture asks promoting the employee for not putting the project at risk for fear of loosing a resource on a critical project Very few direct projects. Shark-eat-shark culture thrives -- As is the case in most consulting companies. Many ex-Accenture people get dumped at Avanade. Annual review systems isn't really what it claims to be. People with 3 or 4 years of consecutive highest review rating and IT asset creation often go unnoticed.

Pros

Great place to learn a lot about consulting and technology. Lots of opportunity to grow your career from the entry level up to architects. Benefits that you don't see at other consulting companies such as training you when you are between projects (and paying you for it). Access to mentors that can provide guidance to move up the career tree for those that need a little more guidance.

Cons

The culture at Avanade can vary greatly from area to area which can be confusing when you are a traveling consultant.
