      Pros

      You might land with an interesting project.

      Cons

      People are a commodity at Avanade. At any point they can reorganize and you are out. Very politically driven culture starting with the CEO. If you land in a good spot there , ride it for as long as you can but beware, its a short term place with lots of churn.

      Pros

      Partially owned by Microsoft and Accenture (gold plated health plans and access to "Big Projects") Management recognizes that happy and satisfied employees make the difference in delivery for the customers Competitive pay and benefits. Great place to start a career in consulting as the onboarding and training that is provided is priceless. Mature tools for sales and delivery process and methodologies. Flexible work is a thing and something that is real.

      Cons

      Mostly owned by Accenture. This can be a con for some of the projects that are managed by Accenture (not all) as their culture is that of a Big 5 consulting firm and the "employee first" culture doesn't pervade as much as within Avanade.

      Pros and Cons of a Consultant position at Avanade

      Pros

      You are able to skill up on microsoft technologies for free The organization has a lot of events for people to get involved in (almost like college clubs) You get rewarded for the effort you put in

      Cons

      You do not have a manager. You have a career advisor (almost like a mentor) that advocates for you for promos and merit. The downside of this is generally your career advisor is not on every project you are on so they dont see first hand what you are doing. You have to apply for positions within the company you are interested in and review. If this is something you are not up for this may not be the place for you.
