Simple thoughts on the Design Engineering Department
Pros
I do not have much to say that is "Pro" for the design engineering department.
Cons
Over working your employees Micromanagement / hand holding Poor Pay (HR will cold call you, and only provide a verbal offer, that you must accept on the phone right then) No room to grow European management will dictate your day. Too many redundant information back logging. If you have a engineering degree you are over qualified, if you have any experience in CAD modeling or CAD drafting keep job hunting, you are over qualified. This position is just a "warm-body" they will hire anyone regardless of education or experience. Overall this is not a engineering position calling it a "Design Engineering" is a stretch. This is a CAD drafting position, and it is only 2D CAD work. Main take aways ... if you have a engineering degree keep looking, if you have job experience keep looking.
