Pros

Great coworkers. Not much of "that's not my job" attitude. Many coworkers were there for the long term (15 plus years) with a wealth of knowledge.

Cons

Bought by investment firm and now profits are king, superseding employee loyalty and commitment. Middle/upper management with poor people management skills.

Pros

A fast-paced environment. New technologies are being implemented in the company, if only at the expense of its own employees.

Cons

new management (New Mountain Capital) is intent on growing the company and reselling it for a profit. That has fostered a climate of terror in the company, where former valuable employees, usually with many years of experience and business knowledge, are steadily replaced with younger, cheaper employees. Young whipper-snappers put in charge bungled the recent SAP implementation. Middle-managers stand aside and play the echo chamber. A former great company / extended-family to work for; now all employees are just numbers on a spreadsheet, subject being replaced summarily. A culture of "transformation" in practice feels like a culture of terror.

Pros

The company was unique in that it was run like a family business despite being owned by a corporate entity. People cared about their jobs and tried to do their best. This was lost when they tried to force the company to be something it is not and in too short of a time period.

Cons

Culture was lagging in terms of growth and opposed to change which made pursuing new businesses difficult.
