Pros

The individual teams, I’ve stayed because I love my team and fear what will happen to them when there isn’t someone here to protect them.

Cons

- When new hires verbally question their decisions to join Axalta in the first week, that should be a red flag. - When the “joke” is 6 months at Axalta or like 6 years in the real world, that should be a red flag. - When there is a hiring freeze, including replacement of business critical roles, but all of a sudden there are 10+ senior level Sr Directors and/or VPs hired, that should be a red flag. - When the C-suite employees are threatening staff level employees, that should be a red flag. - When business critical vendors are not paid in over a year because there is no money, that should be a red flag. - When every department is suffering with being short staffed, using outdated and/or inadequately implemented software, having no work life balance, but they continue to relocate C-suite and VP level staff from across the country, that should be a red flag. How Axalta keeps their lights on is mind blowing, but not to worry, I’m sure the C-suite will run it right in to the ground soon. I wouldn’t recommend Axalta to my worst enemy. Save yourself and run as far away from here as you can.

You’ll need to navigate constant organizational changes that don’t always make sense.

Cons

Since the appointment of the new Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) approximately a year ago, the Procurement organization has gone down the drain. This individual lacks both industry knowledge and interpersonal skills, and attempts to mask these shortcomings through an impolite, disrespectful and almost abusive demeanor. Even before familiarizing himself with the team, a group of consultants was brought in to breath down our necks throughout the day. These consultants possess a similar level of industry expertise as the CPO, which is to say very little, and their involvement has yielded minimal to no results. Achievements made by the existing Axalta team, (in a declining market) are being assigned to the consultants. This skewed narrative is then circulated internally to justify the substantial fees paid to these consultants. Axalta team members then find themselves questioned about the "uncaptured opportunity" these superhero consultants were now able to capture and are placed on a performance plan. There is no money for travel anymore because the consultants drained the travel budget staring at tanks and pipelines at the plant. The CPO himself further consumes the travel budget by pretending the UK has any relevance (though Axalta hardly holds any assets there) I believe this is done so he can enjoy family visits on company budget. Furthermore a freeze on new hires is in place which includes the replacement of departing team member. Their responsibilities are then being shifted onto others, creating an unsustainable workload for the already strained team members who remain.
