Pros

Great room for personal growth if you can play the politics. Great PTO options and good perks. Great code base with skilled developers. Helping first responders.

Cons

Honestly they have a great mission, but the company is so poorly managed. There are almost no procedures for even an exit interview with HR. I had to arrange the exit interview myself, and they still pride themselves on being a startup, despite the fact that TASER has been around since the 90s. They also suffer from a "go after the shiniest object" syndrome, where they prematurely latched onto a drone reselling service despite in no way integrating into their product suite. Middle management is pretty much kids out of Harvard, so they tend to have a very entitled attitude, because in reality they have 2 years of work experience. The frat culture and sexism are just... always bubbling under the surface. Then there's the dishonesty, TASER has used some nasty PR tactics to silence victims of TASER death and their interference in medical trials and lawsuits are well-documented. There was a reason that they changed the name to Axon. Ultimately, they can be a good place to further your career if you are in the right team, but you have to kill your internal moral compass. And if you've worked in a tech startup before, I'm sure you'll know to see past the vat of kool-aid they pour over you.

Pros

1. Pretty office setup 2. Good at spending (wasting) money

Cons

1. Engineers were let go for no reason --- executive level stated engineers are easy to be replaced in Seattle 2. When facing risk of launching project, the management level did not focus on solving the issue. Rather they only concerned who gonna take the blame.... I personally was forced to point finger to innocent people and was told that I would be fired if I didn't. That was a horrible experience in my career life.. 3. Axon doesn't stand by what was promised, so be aware.

Pros

Strong growth company, pay is incredible, unlimited PTO, stock options for executive level positions, great corporate mission

Cons

This is the epitome of a "good ol' boys company". They are growing so quickly that they're infrastructure and capabilities are not keeping up to speed. The existing executives are getting overwhelmed and have become obsolete, and are out of their league. They don't know what's needed in the organization to drive continued growth and understanding of their customers. They are so concerned about the bottom line that they are cutting, and "being scrappy" on key functions that are essential to the expansion and continued health of this company. Be cautious of the Seattle team, they are DIFFICULT to say the least. New ideas are not well accepted, and the ego in that division is out of control. These guys think they walk on water, and refuse to accept new ideas that will transform their organization. Make sure you understand what you're getting into, your manager, and your job - I was mislead tremendously. Would have NEVER joined this company had I known the reality of what I was in for.
