Fun office environment, coworkers were nice.

Cons

The pay is pretty low and management has some weird rules about moving up in the company.

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. We’re glad you find the office environment enjoyable, although we differ with your remarks about remuneration, and we’re not quite sure what you mean about the ability to move up in the company. The Axos culture is meritocratic above all, and that means we provide opportunities for highly talented individuals to grow personally and professionally. At Axos, employees are able to take on responsibilities that go well beyond what people with similar experience levels would find in other organizations. Those who thrive in this culture are rewarded accordingly – both in terms of advancement opportunities and in terms of our competitive compensation structure, which comprises base pay plus merit-based bonuses. Those bonuses are paid out twice a year and are based on the individual’s contribution during the preceding 6-month performance period. It's our goal for you to grow personally and professionally, and so we encourage you to have a discussion with your manager about your career progression with Axos.

Pros

Innovative bank, willing to try new and/or out-of-the box products and ways of thinking. Culture of continuous improvement that encourages staff at all levels to challenge the status quo. Fast-growing provides a lot of opportunity for driven, hard-workers. Lots of smart people and a lot of big initiatives (just completed a re-brand, launching new products, launching new online banking software, various acquisitions). Every day is different; you definitely won't be bored.

Cons

Not for everybody. Axos demands a lot from its employers, and people who do best are strong performers who genuinely want to be part of the Bank's growth. Not a fit for folks who prefer a lot of structure or who want to "coast". Tough skin is important. As the company continues to grow, unnecessary bureaucracy is popping up that needs to be addressed. The IT/PM team is over-burdened and under-resourced so it can be a long wait to get IT projects done, unless it is considered a TOP PRIORITY.
