Pros

-Great opportunity straight out of college, allow overtime. -Health Benefits -Main office in La Jolla has cool amenities like private gym. -Potential ability to have free training in areas requested (not paid for this training though) -Cool opportunities to hear/learn from executives and learn more about the banking industry from seasoned experts.

Cons

- Few rotations in this "rotational program" - End of year bonus is a bit misleading - Compensation/Pay is pretty low. - Ability to excel/enjoy program reliant on which department you're appointed to, not based on merit but on luck. - Position ends up boiling down to admin/servicing work that doesn't provide much in the way of learning about the banking industry from an analytical and seems to be menial work that managers just don't want to hear or think about.

Thanks for taking the time to share your insights. It sounds like you're seeking greater responsibility/challenge, which is something our meritocratic culture encourages. We'd recommend you speak with a manager of the JCA program about broadening the scope of your portfolio. One comment about pay: our compensation package is competitive and consists of a base salary plus performance-based bonuses paid out twice a year. The bonuses are paid in a mix of cash and stock, which vests over three years.

Pros

Young professionals, coworkers and middle management are great. You are free to alter processes

Cons

Upper management (read: CEO/CCO) has insisted that all employees work in-office through the pandemic. Virtually every job could be done from home with 1 office visit every 2 weeks for a wet signature here or there, but everyone is in-officd full-time. There have been 3 confirmed cases in the office in the past 3 weeks; they sent home maybe 20 people, for max 2 weeks. Some senior employees have directly expressed anti-masker and COVID-denier sentiments. Whoever is responding to these reviews saying "we conducted a survey about our COVID response, our employees say we did a good job" has failed to mention that survey took place in the first week of April, when San Diego had <300 confirmed cases. In reality, their COVID response has met the absolute legal minimum as required by the state of California, which means telling people to wear a mask and take their own temperature and wash their hands, but not enforcing that dictum on upper management.

We appreciate your feedback and take it seriously. It looks like you've identified yourself as a Junior Credit Analyst (JCA), and we're glad you chose Axos to launch your career. We've offered the JCA program for seven years, providing a springboard for talented individuals to enter the world of finance. During this time, we've learned a few things about what works best. One lesson is that it’s just not possible for JCA participants to learn effectively from home. Unfortunately -- and we mean this in the best way -- JCAs don’t know what they don’t know. More broadly, we think it’s also incredibly difficult for team members to work on strategic and operational initiatives, remotely. Finally, the precautions we're taking against the spread of COVID are in full compliance with relevant local, state and federal regulations -- and we think they've been effective considering the lack of spreading and the length of time we’ve been at it.

Pros

Some how, Axos has a way of attracting great people. This fact alone is something I will certainly miss. The comp structure was fair for the sales roles I was a part of. PTO accrual was generous. Benefits were industry standard. 401K match is with company stock and has a vesting schedule. Sales training is decent depending on your department. If you invest your time and energy at Axos, they'll do their best to return the favor. They don't sell garbage. Axos's products are top class. There is opportunity to make money and do well.

Cons

Axos Bank is a multi-billion dollar, publicly traded, sales-oriented company. Ops staff is pushed to do their jobs faster and sales staff is pushed to sell more. This is the simple reality of corporate America and it is definitely not missed on Axos. There are some horizontal and vertical mobility options, however the availability of these options are dependent on your tenure in your current position, your performance in your current position, and your ability to network within the bank--which I assume is industry standard. Be prepared to stay in your position and work hard for a year minimum. I don't have much else negative to say.
