Pros

Good benefits. Beautiful office near UTC. Friendly co-workers. Amazing CEO. If you thrive working with difficult people and joining cliques, you can move up fast.

Cons

In concept, Axos seems like a great fit for ambitious people. In reality, it’s an exceedingly difficult working environment due to insecure, egomaniacal SVPs and Executives who lack vision, organization, compassion, and direction — especially those in Marketing and Business Products. From Senior Leadership in Marketing and Business Products, you’ll get: consistently broken promises, minuscule operational controls, cliques, tone-deafness, nepotism, disorganized prioritization, meaningless monologues, constant change in direction, lack of spatial awareness, threats of being fired, inconsistent opinions, an unhealthy work-life balance, intimidation tactics, unrealistic and unfounded performance expectations, and a lack of meaningful resources — not to mention minimum long-term support and employee onboarding training. These same senior leaders find creative ways to place blame on their employees when things don’t work in their favor, even though it’s their orders employees follow; and they rarely take legitimate responsibility for the dysfunctional, toxic environment they’ve fostered — (whether intentionally or unintentionally.) Many employees, (who actually prefer not to interact with senior leaders), become unmotivated, disenfranchised, and disinterested due to these factors — leading to accelerated turnover and cultural problems for Axos. Plus, employees in Marketing and Business Products say it’s hard to tell what the Senior Directors do for actual day-to-day work — besides complain and socialize. Also, the consensus is that the Marketing and Business Product leaders’ knowledge range are too narrow for the roles they must play at Axos. Overall, Axos could be a fantastic stepping stone in one’s career if it not for its Marketing and Business Product SVPs causing more harm than good to the Org.

Pros

The salary was competitive, and there were opportunities to work on challenging projects.

Cons

The role came with excessive workload expectations and insufficient tools to meet deadlines. Collaboration among departments was minimal, causing inefficiencies and confusion. There was little focus on employee well-being, and feedback was not constructive. The lack of mentorship or clear career advancement paths made the position feel like a dead end.

Our Jr. Banking Analyst program is an immersive, intense, entry-level opportunity where Team Members are challenged, but given a high level of responsibility. We provide our JBAs with monthly Lunch & Learns taught by executives in the bank, a formal mentorship program, Corporate Finance Institute trainings, monthly networking events, and one-on-one trainings with managers and tenured JBAs.
