Pros

Can’t think of any reasons to work here.

Cons

Avoid this place. It’s essentially a sweatshop with lack of upward mobility and growth opportunities. Management is a joke and will not hesitate to gaslight and blame you for not meeting unreasonable expectations, while not being flexible to work with you in meeting said goals. Your mental health and well-being are not a consideration here. There is no work-life balance or culture to speak of. Every function is short staffed and struggling with turnover and they can’t hire people fast enough. And when they do, there is lack of adequate training to get the job done right. Also, good luck ever getting a hold of anyone in HR if you have any issues. They are basically non-existent.

Pros

The people I worked alongside were wonderful (excluding management). Benefits are decent, and I gained valuable experience.

Cons

The scores of team leads and quasi managers constantly create an incredibly toxic, fear based environment. They will call you out for past mistakes in front of the team, and punish every small mistake in front of the team. The company should focus less on the insane amount of intermediate busy-work and reduce the workload. Perhaps the biggest draw-back of working as a Study Manager here is the complete lack of integrity shown bybupperband middle management . Managers and team leads (which out number study managers at this point) demand dishonest practices, and that all mistakes are covered up. Honesty should be the cornerstone of any biotechnology company, and is sorely lacking at Azenta. The company uses and implements so many outdated and poorly conceived processes, creating useless busy work. Shady and abrupt layoffs also plague this team, so beware! You may not have a job tomorrow no matter how happy your clients are. Have fun in that working environment. I am so happy I left.

Pros

The day for my role was the only thing that kept me there. Some of my team members were great to work with.

Cons

The day for my role was the only thing that kept me there. I was hired a year ago and after about 6 months could see the facade for what it was. First, my team was incredibly small and no one seemed to care. Yet we were expected to operate as if we had more people and more expectations piled on every other day. Corporate starting jumping ship in 2023 and 2024. The Corporate structure is an illusion. Money is constantly being wasted on ambiguous "perks" that no one has time to use. We got a foosball table and coffee machines but the techs don't make enough to live on. The HR department down plays the extravagant amount of turn over by blaming it on attendance and sicknesses. The truth is no one wants to work there because of the pay. There were 100 people laid off last month because the CEO promised the shareholders annual bonuses. People Azenta actually needed were let go with no warning except an ominous email sent out after hours about a "transition" coming. Profit is priority and Corporate doesn't care who they have to step on to get it. Vendors and other sites suffer because the the bills are not being paid on time. The town halls are a joke because nothing important ever gets done. It's just hot air and fancy words being spoken by people who already have too much money.
