It was going downhill two years ago; now it has reached rock bottom.

Pros

1) Some genuine good people both professionally and personally in CS at the HQ office (Guildford). 2) Depending on your department, you can have a pretty relaxed time. That's about it.

Cons

1) The focus keeps changing every 3 months. The engineering will plan things out, work towards the plan and 3 months down the line the management will change focus. Then they will BLAME engineering for not delivering. 2) Most talent has left in the last 3 years. The management drove the talent away due to lack of investment and false promises. 3) Attrition rate is at its full capacity. It seems that everyone is jumping off the sinking (wrong: sunk) ship. 4) Abysmal senior management. When one of the directors was asked what is their plan to address attrition and lack of investment she responded that she does not want to hear these questions again, seriously that happened.

BAE Systems AI - UK

Pros

Some great individuals who really care about the company. Plenty of opportunities to progress and move around the company. Working for UK leader within Cyber Security.

Cons

AI have moved away from what they do best and seems directionless, without a clear strategy. Due to poor performance over the past two/three years there has been a lack of investment in the employees and infrastructure to support the business. Unhealthy relationship with outsourced provider, services continue to be moved to to provider at the expense of a good service which meets business needs. Having worked at BAE Systems for a number of years, I always felt trusted, empowered and valued. Unfortunately, it is now the very much the opposite, you are just a number and senior management have no wish or desire to engage with you.
