Pros
I don't think that i have to many pro's - within the particular division where change happened daily and processes changed on the hour! The Pro's would probably relate to other divisions or departments which i have liaised with. Supporting departments like IT, and Accounts payable are very responsive and take action quickly...HR have also been very helpful with having a buddy once I joined the company. I thought i had a very good start with a 2 day induction with very good training on company overall products and services which gave me a good base understanding.
Cons
Extremely bureaucratic. I must also say I didn't really see how the company was diverse or multicultural at all (coming from a non UK country). Company culture is such that once i have consulted HR and spoken out about my views / ideas, it all changed for me, forever. I was encouraged to speak my mind 'as to prove a point' that the company 'encourages so'. Once i took up on this and spoke my mind and gave my ideas, i was shouted at in the office, after which i consulted HR, i was shortly after in a situation where i left the company... A very toxic environment and extremely long working hours. I came from a company where i had the same salary but here it was 10 hrs./week more! So effectively, i was on a lower salary (per hour!) than the market average for my experience and knowledge. Somehow it was pushed back that this is what large businesses where about! Yet at 8pm or 9pm no one else was in the building in Guildford apart from the very few ' hard working guys' that have no manners....
