Career path for engineers is to force engineers to stop engineering! only option for progression is to move into management and lose touch with actual engineering Way too much process, which gets in the way of delivery. Only way to progress is to move around the company - which means that those who choose to specialise will not receive equivalent reward or recognition. No reward for good performance, but similarly no reprimand for poor performance.
