      Great colleagues doing good work

      Pros

      Working with the people at Applied Intelligence was always great - smart, hard-working and always willing to help. A great culture of achieving results collaboratively. The products and technology were exciting and cutting edge.

      Cons

      The review process is somewhat flabby. Much improved over the last few years, but there's still an element of politics behind it and it takes far too long. For all that the people on the ground are doing good work, and that departmental heads are very visible, the board-level management is completely invisible to most staff.

      Pros

      Some clever people here. Good place to go for interesting work. Some of the stuff they do has great societal benefits.

      Cons

      The priority every year is profit to the exclusion of everything else. There are areas that need investment to maintain future profitability but these are neglected and investment to date has been marked by poor choices. Investment in training has been woeful and is the first casualty when targets are threatened.

      Unbelievable potential

      Pros

      This is a company that is really going places. There are lots of very clever and motivated people. The company does really worthy work that it's easy to feel proud of. Bae is putting lots of money into the company and it has the dynamic feel of a high growth company. The facilities are world class and nice touches such as free fruit and kit Kats tell you that the company wants their staff to be well looked after. It is a company where you feel that you can make a difference and customers love what we do. Not many IT companies can claim that

      Cons

      The flip side of growth is that their is a lot of ambiguity around structures. Some of the longer term people don't like the fact that they don't work for Detica anymore and don't really like the changes. The reality is that to meet the aspirations the company has to grow and has to evolve.
