Pros

Great people to work with. Professional staff with varied experiences. Immediate management was supportive. Flexible working arrangements allowed for a good family / work life balance.

Cons

Higher level management is not transparent, to the extent of almost being deceitful. Problems in the organization are not conveyed to staff at the engineering level. Lack of strong engineering leadership at the higher levels stemming from a lack of understanding of the end product. Greatly reduces the organizations ability to take technical risk and hence not entering into any risk/reward payoff.

Pros

There's alot of experience here, about 50 percent of the workforce has been here for 10 plus years. Constant work, if your hourly, overtime is almost always available. Very military friendly, majority of workforce is prior service, all branches welcome. Saftey is priority. Health benefits are great.

Cons

Lack of knowledge increases as you go up in the chain. Time served in the company isn't a direct reflection of what they know. Program management is more concerned with getting the ship out on PCD than taking the time to fix things the right way. Shops are close in proximity but miles apart on communication. Salaried employees work over 40 hours a week, but don't get paid for the extensive hours they work. Quality of new workers coming in is poor. Subcontractors are everywhere, in the way, delaying progress, and causing problems with everything they touch.
