      Opportunity to progress if you 'fit' the environment/culture Good hours (Said with caution as it is Consulting after all) Opportunity for you to make a difference

      Cons

      communication system amongst employees and senior managements need to be improved. Also knowledge sharing needs to be encouraged and to promote personal development. Problems can arise since one person wears many hats. Limited internal career opportunities.

      BAE all but abandoning Santa Clara Site

      Pros

      There were unique opportunities in the Silicon Valley job market to work on Army and other DOD combat and security systems. The residual leadership team from UDLP was great; however, now being forced out or marginalized.

      Cons

      With loss of FCS-MGV contract coupled with other Land and Armaments program losses (MATV, FMTV, etc.) the U.S. Combat Systems business is down to legacy support contracts and JLTV to pave its future. With the Defense Reform Act of 2009 and other political shift on the par tof hte government assuming role of platform integrator, the business case for the Santa Clara site is dismal at best. The L&A corporate folks, while they won't "turn the lights out" on Santa Clara certainly aren't going to go out of their way to close Santa Clara as that is part of their business re-alignment plan.

      Pros

      BAES is a good stepping stone from military life to civilian work for any ex-serviceman. The support given in the early days is good and very familiar.

      Cons

      It's far too much like still being in the military.
