Pros

Experience at the top of an IT support division within a global software company; understanding how to manage customer relationships for the benefit of sales.

Cons

Internal discord and lack of direction. Teams competing for internal funding interferes with synergy. Global management as applied precludes true understanding of regional (US market) business practices.

Pros

There's alot of experience here, about 50 percent of the workforce has been here for 10 plus years. Constant work, if your hourly, overtime is almost always available. Very military friendly, majority of workforce is prior service, all branches welcome. Saftey is priority. Health benefits are great.

Cons

Lack of knowledge increases as you go up in the chain. Time served in the company isn't a direct reflection of what they know. Program management is more concerned with getting the ship out on PCD than taking the time to fix things the right way. Shops are close in proximity but miles apart on communication. Salaried employees work over 40 hours a week, but don't get paid for the extensive hours they work. Quality of new workers coming in is poor. Subcontractors are everywhere, in the way, delaying progress, and causing problems with everything they touch.

Pros

The hours can be flexible depending on where you work and who your boss is. The location of the facility is about 20 minutes from downtown.

Cons

Management. Management is really the major problem if this company. There is hardly any communication between seniors and subordinates. If there are layoffs, you aren't noted a head of time so you can plan accordingly, especially if you have family. For two or three years, the company has been reducing it's staff to "remain competitive" yet the company is still not competitive. When I started, BAE was number 3 in top defense contractors in the US and that number has feel sharply.
