Only join if you have no other options (and leave as soon as you can)
Pros
- The NSAC route is a decent way to enter the industry if you have no other options - You can write BAE Systems on your CV which doesn't look too bad
Cons
- Many projects involve working with very old technology (meaning the experience you gain is somewhat irrelevant to modern day software development) - The company supply absolutely awful equipment to their engineers. Very old 2nd hand windows laptops. Any decent tech company gives their engineers macbooks - Tons of bureaucracy - Pay is very below market (we're talking ~35k for engineers with over 2 years of experience. At other companies, someone with this amount of experience could earn around 60k easily) - Lots of headaches and hassles due to the "sensitive" nature of some of the work - The engineers you'll work with will most likely be mediocre at best, meaning you won't learn much from them (all the decent devs are working at companies that pay more)
