I came to BAE as a Student Technician and was offered advice and guidance by Management and Engineers. It was a good place to start my career and everyone was very helpful.

Cons

As with most large companies communication was an issue. It was difficult to get directions in a manner that was not vague. Also, poor communication between Operations and Engineering personnel led to some unnecessary problems and delays.

Pros

You get about 11 government holidays off every year and are payed for it. Location isn't in DC and is easy to get too from the toll road. Friendly people to work for.

Cons

It is a big company so if you need to get anything done from another department it takes way too long.

Corporate culture is ok, but first line supervisors are ill-equipped

Pros

Stable corporate work environment. Lots of internal training offered (managerial and other). Tuition re-reimbursement up to $4.5k/year (for additional year commitment). Plenty of paid time off in addition to 10 paid federal holidays.

Cons

Little fish in a huge ocean feeling. Management can be a little impersonal. First-line managers are really unqualified. Company tends to promote from within and tends to be a little on the good ol' boy standard. Not enough turn-over to keep a constant flow of ideas and management styles where it counts.
