      steady paycheck, decent benefits, stable situation.

      Cons

      upward mobility in specialty is limited. You either switch departments or quit, to get rehired in a new position. merit increases are small, after inflation, negative. bureaucratic swamp makes getting work done frustrating.

      I don't meet anyone cutthroat in this business, which is a good thing. I think they're honestly trying to do the best for their employees.

      They are listening to industry instead of their employees. The benefits packages are beyond terrible.
