Pros

Only thing immediately available was 401k and that's it. 3 months for anything else. Some really good coworkers. Personable site manager but too busy with other things to ever get a real feel for the problems at site

Cons

am clueless as to why good reviews Was at geismar site and that place operates like separate fiefdoms on same grounds. If u r lucky and end up in good plant based on full blown NEPOTISM that's great but if not u end up in one of three plants that suck big time. Human Resources doesn't have a clue. FEAR breeds contempt and more FEAR! Never saw so much dumping on good people while the mediocre employees just did whatever they damn well pleased. Training nearly non existent Everything is by contract and quite frankly found 401K terrible with only 25 or so options. All designed by retirement age. Benefits were not as great as ppl say. Have def seen better. So many smoke breaks by some employees and nothing said. Crappy inventory for operations. Not enough safety gear. Some areas very poorly managed. Talks a good talk. But does not walk the walk as so many companies don't. Think ppl in relatively poor state just expect to work in plants and only think about money. Just didn't find pay and benefits as high as they thought they were. Arrogant engineers at times. Constant movement and turnover. If it's so great how come so many employee related problems. This isn't the best site and there r some significant issues with management and how things r handled there. Would not recommend. You can do better elsewhere. Stop thinking in terms of only money. This isn't the highest paying job nor the best. Severely reduced pay for 6 months! Even though u r doing the same work. No information on benefits at all for nearly 3 months. Would u take a job without knowing something ! Politics as usual. Poor training quality. No inclusion initiatives. Laissez faire attitude about safety. Don't let them tell u they r safety oriented. Saw all kinds of shortcuts and no management ever said a word. Site is very dirty esp in control rooms. NEPOTISM and severe favoritism shown. Diversity? What diversity. Poor HR management. Sink or swim attitude towards employees.

Good company with poor management

Pros

Excellent benefit options and opportunity for education. Room for growth, but only with relocation.

Cons

Poor management style and discrimination. Everyone has blinds and is overlooking discrimination which happens at work. Very unethical behavior. No room for growth since only few managerial positions are filled. Very small place and everyone knows one another. Uneducated management and lack of decision making.
