Pros
All the projects are urgent and have strict deadlines. In such an environment you learn many things; you can improve both technical and softskills fast. Most of the colleagues are well educated, you can learn much from them if you can success working as a team(win-win), not fighting.
Cons
You have to work late hours, after years you may feel you're exhausted and missing life. Also changing departments is discouraged; if you work on same subjects for long time, you lose your value in business life. Learning new things and improving your abilities are up to you but you won't have the energy after a dense and stressful workday. Don't wait appreciation, it's better you learn to pet your own shoulder:)
