      Pros

      Considered a country club..many workers travel long distances to work here...and a lot of people stay over 10+ years

      Cons

      Hard to move around once inside, unless you're a chosen one. Network from day 1!!!!

      Pros

      Very stable, global corporation, widely recognized for being highly ethical. Well known for efficient manufacturing operations. Steady growth in revenues and share price for more than 110 years. Good people that are highly motivated. Interesting, high quality, high value products and services that save lives. Good wages and benefits.

      Cons

      Very political, process driven, extremely conservative and very bureaucratic organization with slow and frustrating processes and systems. Currently downsizing and outsourcing with frequent layoffs and constant pressure to reduce cost and improve operational effectiveness. Employees are directed to do more and more with fewer and fewer resources resulting in relatively low moral. Small exposed cubicles for most professional employees and a performance review system that does not reward risk takers. Moving to a central service model for HR and IT. Outsourcing IT and R&D services to India and the Asia Pacific Region.
