Great company who cares about employees and members

Pros

Where to start? BECU has done a great job of doing what is right for their employees and members. They are always striving to create more opportunities for internal promotions and giving employees the opportunities for job shadows, interim opportunities, continued education, etc. to further their own careers. BECU is constantly looking at ways to ensure they are competitive in the market with pay, bonus and benefits. As BECU continues to grow, they are going to benefit from the vision that is established and maintained.

Cons

For many front-line roles, there is not much flexibility with hours. It is a retail location so it makes sense but it would not be the right role for someone who could not work a consistent schedule.

Pros

BECU has a great history in the Puget Sound, and continues to be a great contributor to the local community. It is values driven for the most part, and member centric. Also a very healthy company - growing to serve the needs of more members. Very generous incentive/bonus program; very good wellness program/benefits.

Cons

Some growing pains associated with changing from a local service base to a larger, more competitive organization. Some pockets of resistance to change, and slow rates of change in areas like IS/IT impact both employees and member services. Main HQ location is inconvenient for a variety of reasons including limited mass transit options. Lots of neighborhood locations, so I'm hoping that is a benefit to employees that they can work closer to home and reduce commute times.

Growing pains - lots of work, not enough people.
