      Pros

      Salary + bonus, benefits, treat employees very well, flex work!, professional development opportunities are there, all you have to do is ask and they'll support it, very safety conscious

      Cons

      Open office plan is horribly counter productive. The company has existed a long time but is constantly "reorganizing" so its a very unstable job. To exist long term at BHP you had better be willing to relocate internationally. Mining sector seems the most stable. Lots of people placed in middle management that aren't cut out for it. You can't get promoted in your existing role based on performance anymore. You can only apply for a completely new job in order to advance.

      Benefits, atmosphere, growth potential, location.

      Cons

      Large company, although leadership and executive management have the best intentions, they don't understand how detrimental a bad manager or weak link in an individual department can be in regards to performance productivity and employee tenure. Department head managers have low accountability as far as how happy their individual employees are with their career and purpose. The company puts more stock in the skills of their managers and that crucial role, than in their ability to lead their own departments. It takes forever to get hired, and just as long to get fired.
