Pros

Benefits are fantastic if you can put up with the poor management and constant management changes.

Cons

Lack of leadership that knows what is really going on. Project managers have no clue how to manage projects. They also expect you to live in the office. Finance stocks their office with food from SAMS because they are routinely there past 9 PM!!!

Micro Managed and felt lied to.

Pros

Pay and benefits are nice, except when you consider the work environment. Those are the only pros I can think of.

Cons

Micro Managed. I worked for a Tulsa company that they took over. Many promises made, none of them kept. The more I hear from fellow employees that did make the move the happier I am I did not. They try to run every aspect of your life, I was shocked how invasive they were trying to get. Everything you read in these reviews about politics over substance is very very true!

Pros

Well funded Lean organization Good location in Galleria (on Post Oak) Staff want to get the job done Lots of scope Salaries & bonuses generally strong

Cons

GoM focused, have not been able to expand outside here (5 years on, still trying) Seeking "perfect deal" - HIGHLY risk averse NO work-life balance, company owns your soul, body and your weekends Massive amounts of Exxon-like PROCESS and uber-control. Sole decision-maker in the room is CEO. Can't make decisions without every i dotted, t crossed and 10 decimal places to every figure. Petroleum division is a small part of what is really a mining company (v. different drivers compared to oil & gas)
