Pros

- Interesting work promoting the growth of UK business and helping the economy to grow - Mostly friendly staff - Management structure fairly relaxed compared to other central Government Departments. - Flexibile working encouraged - Excellent offices

Cons

- Gross overstaffing, even after the cuts, which leads to: - Lack of sufficiently engaging work - BIS is a large organisation with a relatively weak centre, meaning there can be repetition of work between different units, and attempts to create a more nimble organisation don't reach the lower levels.
