      Ift's totally broke and no one knows how to fix it

      Pros

      The only reason anyone works here is for the pay, which hasn't keep pace with the economy

      Cons

      No schedule. You never know when you are going to work. The lineups are terrible and you are expected to be rested and ready for work 24/7 I have worked here 32 years and the management is terrible and no one is held accounable for their mistakes except the operating craft.

      Pros

      Excellent pay and benefits. One of the last really good union jobs. One of the few American jobs left that cant be shipped over seas.

      Cons

      Terrible hours. The only company I have ever seen that works harder to fire an employee than to hire one.

      The job is outdoors and pretty interesting.

      Cons

      We have no payed sick leave. There is always the threat of a investigation if you do something wrong, We did not have this threat even in the miltary. We have mangers who are in charge of people and jobs that they have no clue at all about but because they have a degree BNSF believes that they are more qual. to run the show. This is so far of base it's unreal.
