      Pros

      Good pay, time off when you want it most of the time, good benefits, usually have good and competent people who you'll work with.

      Cons

      You will go to work at all hours unless you have a scheduled job. If you are on a scheduled job management will be watching you like a hawk because they're to lazy to drive out and test others on the rode.

      Pros

      Decent pay and benefits, union job, great comraderie with co-workers, can work locally or over the rail, plenty of downtime on the job.

      Cons

      Can take a toll on your personal/family life, irregular work schedule can be a challenge mentally and physically, good chance you will be laid-off for periods of time during your first 5-years of employment.
