      Pros

      Its a decent place to start if you have no experience and do not have a degree in finance. Its probably the easiest employer to become receive an employment offer from.

      Cons

      Compensation is way below what other employers offer. There is no real training program to set anyone up for success. There are no career growth programs. Feedback on performance is weak and there is no real structure to promote. A "promotion" comes with a title and increasing responsibilities but lacks a raise.

      Pros

      Best reason to work at BNY Mellon would be the steady job and something you don't have to worry about losing vs an investment bank.

      Cons

      THere will be limited upside in this as a result of the bank nature of the firm. You will need to find a smaller firm to rise up ranks quickly.

      Pros

      Some areas are better than others. And if you get to one of those spots, and have a competent and fair direct manager, your days aren't so bad.

      Cons

      70% of the people are just happy to put their 8:30-5 in. Another 20% don't even do that much. That leaves the 10% who really do care and try pulling more than their weight If you get in the right area, with a good direct manager, you can have a nice career. But if not, keep looking. You'll never get rich working here. Too much crap is allowed to go own. Nobody wants to go after the people who are the problem. They'd rather upset the 99 other people than the 1 with the issue.
