      BT does not respect loyalty - layoffs are commonm especially when you are 50+ in terms of age!

      Pros

      Good benefits, and great people in general. Multi-cultural company with offices and people around the world.

      Cons

      Layoffs. Nobody other than UK based people can retire at BT. When you get to a point where salary and age are on the higher level, they lay you off and replace you with someone younger and cheaper. That is what they did to me. They eliminated my job without any advance notice of any kind, a total blindside, even though I was hitting all my KPIs and had worked hard for them for 17 years. They posted my same job, two months after I left! Amazing that this can happen! It has turned my life upside down.

      Good base salaries and affordable benefits.

      Cons

      Income controlled by shifting targets. Senior Management changes constantly. Compensation plans were delivered half way thru the year so uncertainty was the norm.
