Pros

Starting out was good, great culture and work environment.

Cons

Pay was well below par, and was No bonus compensation paid for my previous year when they transferred me to another company. It was "take the new job or you are unemployed", no negotiations what so ever.

Thank you for the constructive feedback. We are sorry to hear that this is how you felt as it was not our intention. Sounds like you were transferred when the recession was building force which can make out-of-cycle incentive compensation, such as bonuses, a challenge. What you may not know is that the bonus payouts schedule changed companywide so you still may see incentive compensation in Q2 unless you already received it, as some of the transfers got payouts in Q1 in their new roles. Fortunately you were transferred without a laps in service or paychecks which are both pluses. To your comment on compensation, we have gone through great lengths and investment in analytics to build a foundation of wage equity within our walls. Our data shows that our compensation is extremely competitive within the Chicago market. One lasting side effect of the Great Resignation was exaggerated and unsustainable wage increases used to entice job seekers and that snapshot of time could be the culprit in how compensation is perceived. At the end of the day we are glad you transferred within the organization and hope you are taking an active role in making yourself and your new team successful.

We appreciate your candid feedback. Our people are one of a kind and our unlimited PTO and other benefits are second to none! In regards to your comment on pay, the P&D team have worked extremely hard on finding data that shares accurate information on what competitive pay would be based on the employees location along with other factors. If you have further questions on this, please feel free to reach out to the P&D team.

We appreciate your balanced feedback. We agree with you that our people and Total Rewards, like unlimited PTO, are standout aspects of our company. The good news is that we are taking steps to address the concerns that you have surfaced. We have proactively researched and analyzed our compensation to ensure it is fair and equitable in our employment market. What we have found is that what can feel like “turnover” to a company our size is actually healthy and very normal. We are at a very strong 80% retention rate year over year which is 18% better than the national average. You can be confident that the data is objective and transparent in that it is according the NAICS (North American Industry Classification System.) Although we are always sad to see a Backstopper leave the nest, we are hopeful that they remain in our valued Alumni network. It was beneficial to hear from you.
