      Bain case experience

      Pros

      The people are fun and social. It is a good environment to make friends with coworkers and learn how to balance social/professional relationships.

      Cons

      Bain has changed its case model to reflect longer, relationship style cases. This is not valuable for it's pre-manager employees as it limits variety of experience.

      Pros

      Nearly everyone is extremely down to earth and very friendly. And the companies that you get to work for are often large, public companies (which makes the case work much more interesting).

      Cons

      You work long hours but I'm not sure if the work is necessarily that difficult (i.e. mentally stimulating) as an Associate Consultant or as an Intern. Obviously most jobs right out of college will have some tedious work, but I was hoping that ACs would be challenged a little more.

      Pros

      The culture at Bain is second to none. While at all strategy/management consulting jobs you will experience relatively the same amount of work, no other consulting firm can come close to the group cohesion and culture found at Bain. Things like regular office offsites and the Bain World Cup truly build group cohesion and make it enjoyable to show up to work every day.

      Cons

      Bain cons are similar to other consulting firms. Obviously the hours are a bit longer than your average 9-5 job, but the compensation and exit opportunities more than make up for the extra effort. Also, within Bain the culture can be a little full on if you are trying to keep work and life as seperate entities.
