Don't work here.

Pros

You'll gain real-world experience at spotting liars and sociopaths.

Cons

The company is a monopoly with no competition of any kind within a 200 mile radius. One nurse is supposed to treat 5 patient rooms for an entire shift!?!? The benefits and compensation at Ballad are horrible. Nurses are paid a subpar wage ($40K) to keep the multi-million executives in their cushy offices. Layoffs and reductions in workforce happen without regard to employee performance or tenure. Senior leadership constantly shoots the messenger and doesn't communicate with frontline employees. The Chairman/CEO can't tell the truth if his life depended upon it! Don't be fooled by this horse and pony show! This place is a horrible place to work.

Pros

Ample opportunity for lateral movement. Provides significant insurance discounts with wellness incentives and has an excellent and well equipped wellness center (gym/pool/spa). Offers many local discounts as additional employment benefits. Has many locations in the region so it is easy to move around if needed. Is restricted by recent COPA regulations to prevent layoffs for several years.

Cons

Max 15% raises or minimum of base pay for promotions of frontline employees, layoffs and position eliminations occur without regard to employee performance, position, tenure, or departmental consequences. No discernable administrative career ladder. Noncompetitive pay (33% below regional average). Highly blame based corporate culture.
