There is some toxic people who do favor people more than others.

- Zero base pay. Most agents under 3 years take on a second job to supplement their income. The role is sold as having "uncapped commissions," but realistically, it would take 5–10 years of business building and referrals for that to become applicable. - You're strongly expected to work Saturdays and drive up to 2 hours for in-house appointments. When you're not doing that, you'll be in the office 3 days a week cold-calling or out door-knocking—more so if your cold calling isn't bringing in enough business. - They lie during the application process by calling it "remote" and claiming you'll get "warm leads." In reality, someone is considered a warm lead just because they were mailed a flyer they never asked for—and may not have even seen. You call from a shared directory of these people, along with dozens of other agents, to the point of borderline harassment. You may be able to “win” or buy slightly warmer leads. - The people are wonderful—and that’s part of what makes this job so emotionally manipulative. The culture is built to make it hard to walk away, even when the job is draining your time, money, and mental health. They dangle hope in front of you, convincing you that you could be one of the lucky few who make it to the other side.
