Pros

Being an independent agent Setting your own hours and schedule Good Commission and Bonus Program Meeting new clients everyday and being able to accomplish something that impacts lives

Cons

Lack of support if you need help management is too busy to help Some individuals in agent care can't get their facts right, you scan a document in to cancel a policy but they don't cancel it Work ethic doesn't make a difference management still treats you terribly. I was cold calling over 400 non-responders (individuals) in a week and only 10 would pick up the phone. The ethics aren't very good in the company all the manager cares about is that your a writing agent Some senior agents try to steal all of your commission on policies, so it's hard to trust anyone The training is terrible and some of the senior agents cancel out on appointments with you at the last minute so your stranded as a new agent having to meet the client by yourself You act professional at work but it doesn't matter because some senior agents will spread lies about you to the management at work You chase your tail all of the time and use your own gas money to go to a prospect's house You stand tall and try to make a difference but it doesn't matter because there are so many office politics involved and required meetings you have to go to every week where you can't be genuine and you have to tell management what they want to hear all the time
