Pros

Depending on the office and your position, there can be good work life balance. Volunteering for nonprofits are highly respected among staff. CEO does make a point to come to events and offices, talking with everyone if upper management introduces you. Otherwise you have to take the initiative to talk with him.

Cons

Some management is 'old school' and expect new business from sitting in an office. Not every manager is willing to train employees to do their job and there are no pamphlets or classes/programs on how to use the systems. Learn by asking, if you know the questions to ask. Not much room for growth within the Bank nor classes/programs to help those grow up the ladder.

Pros

There are no pros except to say there are some very nice managers in Walla Walla who are knowlegable and helpful.

Cons

The pay is sub standard for industry standards. Then there's the management if you want to call it that. Everyone is a VP and a "manager". There are seasoned people there who have 20 + years of tenure, never worked outside of Banner, so some haven't a clue about mortgage banking. They make all the decisions. It matters not, what your previous experience is, it's the Banner Way or the highway. There are VP/Managers there who were hired despite their lack of management experience. And yet, even with a complete employee turnover, Sr management and HR fails to get the message. The real reason people won't stay there is because of a certain supervisor. If you enjoy being bullied and micro managed, looking over your shoulder every day and blamed for things which aren't your responsibility or fault, look no farther, this is the place for you.
