Pros

I noticed the firm is good with allowing employees to take time of for training

Cons

-I was in Credit Risk and it was the most boring job that I ever had -Weird British culture - certain employees feel that they could take credit for your work or that the credit should be divided evenly. In reality, these employees did not do nearly as much work as the others did on the team. -If you did a good job on a project that others lack the technical skill sets to complete and moreover, if your work is deemed usable by the team (speaks for itself about the quality), be prepared to be put down by jealous co-workers -Jealous co-workers will nitpick to find the smallest details that are wrong with your work and magnify them to make you look bad -Generally speaking, the technical skills(basic excel/Visual Basic) of AVP/above levels are slightly above zero -If you're a female, everything is a bit easier and people are less likely to get on your back about your lack of technical skills -EVERYONE COMPLAINS ABOUT THE PAY

Pros

The firm is very client focused and is not being run like a giant casino out to game the system. The senior management is very focused on keeping communication lines with employees open.

Cons

I am part of the IT Graduate Analyst program and my person experience has been awful - there are 3, 6-month rotations you have to complete - irrespective of the fact that you have Master's degree or not and then once you get a permanent placement, there is just no word on when you will get elevated to the next title. I have great finance, math and programming background and was hoping to look for a role that would require a good mix of these skills. Unfortunately, anyone with an IT background is considered a third-rate citizen of the bank. IT people have to fill in time-sheets which I think is a gross and uncomfortable experience.
