Pros

Very good work life balance and employee friendly policies. Good increments and bonus payout.

Cons

Too much power in hands of managers. No power to HR. Less career growth opportunities and difficult to get promotions.

1. More autonomy as compared to service industry. 2. Good bonus 3. Barclays care about it's community services and include it in employees appraisal objectives also. 4. Appraisal system is fair 5. Opportunities to contribute are emmense 6. Provides opportunities to switch team / profile internally by Internal Job Portal 7. Barclays advocates a lot for 'Values' 8. It's a brand

Cons

1. Work culture is changing rapidly and moving towards service industry work culture 2. Roles and responsibilities are not clear. 'You touch it, you own it' is the funda here 3. Less recognition 4. Takes a long time for promotion internally (exceptions are always there) 5. Rare onsite opportunities 6. Vendors (service industry partners like Infosys, CG etc.) are given more onsite opportunites 7. Co-ordination challenges between Barclays permanent employees and vendors 8. Dead slow systems and red tapism 9. Extra-ordinary expectations without providing tools and training 10. High work load. Many people work more than half of there weekends in the year

The company pays a Decent Salary compared to a service based industry and in a few projects work load is manageable for a good work life balance.

Cons

There are too many management changes in a single year which can adversely affect your appraisals and efforts. Not at all a stable job at a senior position i.e anythingat or above AVP
