Pros

Bates is a small campus in cold Maine with very warm people. Collaborative work environment with very friendly colleagues. Gorgeous campus, labs with state of the art equipment including 400MHz NMR, SEM, confocal microscope

Cons

Located in Lewiston, a nice city but not so much to do for young people but there's Portland 45 min away with so much more interesting things going on.

Pros

Working as a student intern at the office of intercultural education was such a great experience and provided insight on the politics of race and culture on the entire campus

Cons

I think it is pretty ridiculous that they still haven't found a well-qualified director for the Multicultural (oops now intercultural) center! Get it together, Bates!
